North Korea Playing with Nuclear Fire

Image
North Korea has been firing off missiles again. The national security of the United States is being threatened by these actions. What should we do? For full disclosure, I should say that I have a son on the USS Ronald Reagan, which has been moved to South Korea as a response.  In late September, North Korea  simulated the loading of a tactical nuclear warhead on a missile that in the event of war that would be used in “neutralizing airports in South Korea’s operation zones.” So North Korea is practicing its capability of attacking South Korea with nuclear strikes aimed at South Korea's airports. United States Forces Korea has over 23000 Americans stationed in Korea to provide a deterrent to north Korean aggression. They are there also to act as a tripwire. If those forces are harmed, America automatically is at war and will retaliate. And if they are nuked, well..I guess we will have to nuke them back.  Is this what we want? Getting Serious About Stopping Fentanyl

Image
Fentanyl is killing almost 100,000 Americans every year. That is more than double all automobile accident deaths in the country. The problem is being relatively ignored by government and the media. Furthermore, according to the same report, much of it is coming via San Dieg o: " More deadly fentanyl is being seized by border officials in San Diego and Imperial counties than at any of the nation’s 300-plus ports of entry, making this f

Being a Celebrity Sucks

When I was younger I used to think how great it would have been to be some a-list celebrity like Bruce Springsteen or Brad Pitt. Not that I was obsessed about it. But I thought it would be cool to always get the best seats at games and concerts and how you'd be able to travel anywhere you wanted and buy whatever you wanted. Today, in my older version of myself, I know for pretty sure it would absolutely suck, and I'm extremely happy being a non-celebrity.  I guess I'm thinking primarily of all the child stars who grew up in the limelight. Britney Spears is only one of many examples. I don't know what her net worth is. Google suggests it is like $60 million (ironic that I can get that info in 3 seconds). But you couldn't pay me all that money to be who she is. Is it worth it, Britney? I bet she'd say no. To have her life managed and scrutinized by strangers her whole life. To be unable to trust anyone close to her. To never have the chance of being in a normal re
